Reception have been finding out about Remembrance Day.  We have enjoyed making poppies and we talked about how we should always remember the people who were injured or died in the war.

We had a lovely Halloween special of Toddler Time this week! All the children enjoyed making spiders, playing with the skeleton spaghetti and playing in the ball pit.

What an amazing day Year Two had at the Centre For  Life.  It was non stop all day and we loved exploring the many interactive science displays. We also spent time in  the science lab and completed different investigations and activities relating to space showing how we could help ‘Space Ted’. We also visited the planetarium to watch ‘Bump in the Night’ and watched a ‘science theatre show’ where some of our children were chosen to assist on the stage! We have had so much fun!

This week reception have enjoyed finding out about Diwali.  We have made our very own Rangoli patterns, clay diya lamps, built beautiful Hindu temples and made firework paintings.  We also enjoyed learning some traditional Indian dancing.  We have had a fun filled week celebrating the festival of light!

Reception have been finding out about belonging and Christian baptism. They enjoyed role playing a baptism and visited church to reenact a baptism in church too.

Today on World Mental Health Day – 10th October we had a lovely assembly with Alex, our mental health practitioner from Healthy Minds.

She introduced our Wellbeing Buddy Programme to the children which we are setting up for peers to help and support each other. This fits perfectly in with our characters of kindness and community.

Alex even stayed for our celebration assembly – handing out our star of the week awards.
