On Wednesday 26th March we celebrated World Math’s Day in school.
The theme this year was “creativity found in mathematical discovery and art”.
The children were able to come dressed in anything creative and across the morning time was spent completing art activities linked to shape/space.
On the afternoon, the children each brought in board games which they were able to share and enjoy. We had a wonderful day!

Year 1 welcomed Philippa from the Open Zone to work with the children this week.
They were working together on Google Documents learning how to successfully log in and save documents.
A huge Well Done!

We had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day this week.
It is one of our favourite days of the year!
All of the children looked wonderful in their colours and costumes, a huge Thank you to our parents!
We spent time with the children from East Boldon Juniors who were excellent role models for our younger children.
Sharing Stories – We also had same amazing entries for the paper plate competition – the winners all received their book prizes in celebration assembly.
The Year 1 children had a wonderful time experiencing different animals to consolidate their science work this term.
All of the children were full of excitement and enthusiasm and were able to share lots of knowledge.

Our Year 1 representatives were amazing at the gymnastics competition this week.
We headed to the Urban Factory where we were able to experience all of the brilliant gym equipment and then took part in the competition.
All of the children were great and we were really proud of each one of them – Fab-u-lous and a 10 from Miss Holt and Miss Green!

Our year 2 children thoroughly enjoyed bringing the Great Fire of London to life through some enriching activities. They worked as a team to create houses which were then placed on the fire pit and ignited. The children screamed while they watched London town burn down.
In the afternoon they baked bread 1666 style using flour and water. This was then baked on an open fire and eaten.
