Our book fair was a huge success last week.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
Altogether we raised £696.00, this then meant that £276.00 came back to school directly and year groups chose books to add to their libraries in class.
Reception have been learning about Diwali as part of our What is a celebration Topic.
We found out how Rangoli patterns are made to bring good luck.
We enjoyed making our own Rangoli pattern using loose parts.
We also made our own Diya lamps using clay!
Our year 2 children had a lovely day on Tuesday when they visited the Centre for Life.
They carried our science experiments based on senses, the children enjoyed wearing lab coats and safety goggles to make them feel like professors.
They explored the interactive activities, watched a science show and even managed to go into the planetarium.
End of Term Newsletter
On Monday 16th October, Our Year 1 children led a fantastic Harvest Assembly for their families in St George’s Church.
The whole school brought in donations that will make their way to The Key Project in South Shields. Jo Benham-Brown and her colleague joined us once again for the service which they say is a “highlight of their year!” All of the donations were taken away to be used in food parcels for families within the area.
Once again thank you to our school community for the donations and to our wonderful children for their performance!
Today in reception we have had ‘find a friend Friday’ we have partnered up with children from class five to get to know more children’s names and to make more friends.
Year 2 have been learning this week about Neil Armstrong and Katherine Johnson and how their experiences in space were different.
The children sat in the hot seat and pretended to be Neil or Katherine and answered questions from their peers.

Year 2 have been building Ferris Wheels in Design Technology this week.
They have been working on fixing and joining skills and working together as a team.
